I'm 44, and proud mum to my wonderful 17 year old daughter. We live by the sea, on the north east coast of England. I love people, cats, nature, music and creativity. I'm passionate about my career, being outdoors, writing, walking and photography.

My journey through life has had its ups and downs. All of my experiences have played a part in shaping me into the happy, fulfilled person I am today. I've coped with various life-changing events, such as divorce, bereavements and various other losses. I've also suffered from low self confidence and anxiety in the past, as well as bullying at school and in the workplace.

I'm a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association for Independent Practitioners (AIP). I work within the BACP's ethical framework and Ihave been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (Enhanced Disclosure).

Clients come to me with a range of concerns including: abuse, anger management, addiction, anxiety, bereavement, depression,  family and parenting matters, loss of direction, low self esteem, panic attacks, relationship problems, stress, work-related problems and more...

My approach is 'Person Centred', although I use techniques from other approaches, such as CBT, when I feel it may be appropriate. Learning relaxation techniques, for example, might be useful for clients suffering from stress and anxiety related problems, and keeping a 'Stress Diary' might also help.

I've worked with a variety of clients - male, female, young and old - from the age of 5 up to over 80 years old! Everybody is unique. I value all of my clients and feel that it's such a privilege to be able to cross paths with so many people, and to walk alongside them for part of their journey through life...

I love this work and feel that it's the perfect career for me. I've always been caring, sensitive and concerned about the wellbeing of family and friends, so it seems like a natural progression for me to be in a position to support people in a professional capacity now. In feedback I'm often told that I'm warm, calming, understanding and a good listener.
